Halo/Door/Liftgate Lamp Output Short

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs. Open driver's and passenger's front door. Recheck for DTCs. If HALO/DOOR/LIFTGATE LAMP OUTPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If HALO/DOOR/LIFTGATE LAMP OUTPUT SHORT does not reset, repair short to ground in Yellow/Brown wire between suspect inoperative door courtesy light and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 33. See Figure .
  2. Using scan tool, clear BCM DTCs. Open liftgate. Recheck for DTCs. If HALO/DOOR/LIFTGATE LAMP OUTPUT SHORT resets, go to next step. If HALO/DOOR/LIFTGATE LAMP OUTPUT SHORT does not reset, repair short to ground in Yellow/Violet wire between suspect inoperative liftgate courtesy light and BCM connector C3 terminal No. 25.
  3. Turn ignition off. Locate and disconnect BCM connector C4. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and BCM connector C4 terminal No. 18 (Yellow/Dark Blue wire). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Dark Blue wire between BCM and halo light.
