  1. Using isopropyl alcohol, remove all remnants of double-faced foam tape from floor panel. Position ACM and mounting bracket assembly on floor panel with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Install and tighten 3 ACM mounting bracket-to-floor panel screws. Tighten screws to 105 INCH lbs. (11.9 N.m).
  2. Ensure ignition is off and negative battery cable is disconnected. Connect ACM connector. Ensure connector latch and CPA lock are fully engaged. Remove release paper from new ACM cover double-faced foam tape. Position ACM cover over ACM, then press down firmly and evenly on top of ACM cover to seal foam tape to floor panel.
  3. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector. Turn ignition on and exit vehicle with scan tool. Connect negative battery cable. Using scan tool with most current software available, read, record and then attempt to clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). If any DTCs are active, scan tool will be unable to clear active DTC(s).
  4. Using scan tool, read active DTCs. If no active DTCs are present, read stored DTCs. If any DTCs are present, go to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
  5. From outside of vehicle and away from air bags, turn ignition off for ten seconds, then turn ignition on. Observe AIR BAG indicator light. Light remains on if, ACM determines an air bag system malfunction or if Electro-Mechanical Instrument Cluster (EMIC) light circuit short to ground exists. If light turns on for longer than 8 seconds and then goes off, an intermittent problem in air bag system is indicated. For additional information on air bag system, see appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. If light turns on for 6-8 seconds and then turns off, ACM has determined no system malfunctions exist. Repair is complete.
