All Doors Failing To Lock From Any Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Ram Wagon, 2002 Dodge Ram Van, 2001 Dodge Ram Wagon, and 2001 Dodge Ram Van. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: This testing only applies to models with vehicle theft security system.

Possible Causes:

  1. Driver Door Ajar
  2. Door Unlock Driver Circuit Shorted To Voltage
  3. Door Lock Driver Circuit Shorted To Ground
  4. Central Timer Module

Testing

  1. Ensure driver's side door is fully closed. Using scan tool, read DR DOOR AJAR SW status. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, perform SHORTED DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT  test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 13 (Pink/Violet wire) and ground at CTM connector C2. See Figure . If voltage is more than one volt, repair short to voltage in Pink/Violet wire. If voltage is less than one volt, leave CTM connector C2 disconnected and go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 13 (Pink/Violet wire) at CTM connector C2. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Violet wire. If resistance is more than 100 ohms, replace CTM.
