One Door Failing To Lock/Unlock From Any Switch

Possible Causes:

  1. Open Door Lock Driver Circuit
  2. Open Door Unlock Driver Circuit
  3. Door Lock Motor

Testing

  1. Remove door panel from door failing to lock or unlock. See appropriate procedure under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  . Disconnect suspect door lock motor 2-pin connector. Connect a test light between ground and door lock driver circuit at door lock motor 2-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay while monitoring test light. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in door lock driver circuit. If test light illuminates, leave door lock motor 2-pin connector disconnected and go to next step.
  2. Connect test light between ground and door unlock driver circuit at door lock motor 2-pin connector. Using scan tool, actuate door unlock relay while monitoring test light. If test light illuminates, replace door lock motor. If test light does not illuminate, repair open door unlock driver circuit.
