Anti-Lock Brake System Verification Test

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect any previously connected jumper wires and tools. Reconnect any previously disconnected components and connectors. Ensure all accessories are turned off and that battery is fully charged. Turn ignition on.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool with most current scan tool software available, clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) from all modules. Start engine, allowing it to run for 2 minutes and fully operate the malfunctioning system.
  3. Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs from all modules. If no DTCs are present, go to next step. If any DTCs are present, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM and perform corresponding test(s).
  4. Ensure braking capability is available and road test vehicle a minimum of 5 minutes, performing several anti-lock braking stops. Using scan tool, read DTCs from all modules. If no DTCs are present, repair is complete. If any DTCs are present, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM and perform corresponding test(s).
