Air Bag Control Module: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Ram Wagon, 2002 Dodge Ram Van, 2001 Dodge Ram Wagon, and 2001 Dodge Ram Van. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait 2 minutes. Reach under front of driver's side seat to access and remove molded plastic Air Bag Control Module (ACM) cover. ACM cover is secured to floor panel with double-faced foam tape. Discard ACM cover.
  2. Disconnect ACM connector. To disconnect ACM connector, remove Red Connector Position Assurance (CPA) lock from connector by sliding it toward front of vehicle. Depress connector latch tab and pull connector straight, away from ACM connector receptacle.
  3. Remove 3 ACM mounting screws that secure ACM to mount. Remove ACM and mounting bracket from vehicle.
