Liftgate Outside Handle: Removal

Remove liftgate trim (Fig 1 ).

Disconnect latch linkage and electrical connectors from liftgate control assembly (Fig 2 ).

Remove liftgate control assembly from liftgate.
Remove fasteners attaching liftgate outside handle.
Using a heat gun, apply heat to the wings to loosen the double sided tape for removal of the handle.
Clean surface of any residual tape.
