Description - Charging System

The charging system consists of:

• Generator
• Decoupler Pulley (If equipped)
• Electronic Voltage Regulator (EVR) circuitry within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
• Ignition switch (see IGNITION SYSTEM article.)
• Battery
• Inlet Air Temperature (calculated battery temperature 1.6L)
• Battery Temperature Sensor (2.0L, 2.4L, and 2.4L turbo)
• Voltmeter (see INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article)
• Wiring harness and connections (refer SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article)
• Accessory drive belt
