Door System - Rear: Latch: Installation

NOTE: The screws attaching the door latch to the door end frame have nylon patches on the threads. All screws must be replaced when the latch has been removed.

Insert inside handle latch link to door latch and engage clip (Fig 1).

Place door latch in position on door end frame.
Install screws attaching door latch to door end frame. Tighten screws to 8 N.m (70 in. lbs.) torque.
Insert other linkages to door latch and engage clips.
Connect wire connector into power door lock motor, if equipped.
For proper latch adjustment procedures (Refer to ADJUSTMENTS ).
Verify door latch and power door lock operation.
Install watershield. (Refer to INSTALLATION ).
Install front door trim panel. (Refer to INSTALLATION ).
