Module-Front Control: Operation

As messages are sent over the CAN bus circuit, the Front Control Module (FCM) reads these messages and controls power to some of the vehicles electrical systems by completing the circuit to ground (low side driver) or completing the circuit to 12 volt power (high side driver). The following functions are controlled by the FCM:

  1. Front turn signals
  2. Stop, turn signal and tail lamps
  3. Front and rear hazard warning lamps
  4. Headlamps
  5. Fog Lamps
  6. Daytime running lamps - if equipped
  7. Horn
  8. Windshield and liftgate wiper and washer systems
  9. Transfer case shifting
  10. Trailer tow wiring output
  11. Rear window defroster power and timing
  12. Air conditioning condenser cooling fan
