ICU (Integrated Control Unit): Installation
- Install the ICU with bracket in position on lower radiator support. See Figure.
- Install two upper mounting screws and one lower mounting screw. See Figure. Tighten the three ICU mounting screws to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.) torque.CAUTION: Before installing the 47-way connector in the ABM be sure that the seal is properly installed.
- Install the 47-way wiring connector into the socket of the ABM and close the cover, locking the connector in place. See Figure.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the rear chassis brake tubes at the ICU. See Figure. Tighten the tube nuts to 17 N.m (145 in. lbs.) torque with the aid of a crow's foot wrench.
- Install the right front chassis brake tube at the ICU. See Figure. Tighten the tube nut to 17 N.m (145 in. lbs.) torque with the aid of a crow's foot wrench.
- Install the left front chassis brake tube at the ICU. See Figure. Tighten the tube nut to 17 N.m (145 in. lbs.) torque with the aid of a crow's foot wrench.
- Install the two brake tubes coming from the primary and secondary master cylinder ports at the ICU. See Figure. Tighten the tube nuts to 17 N.m (145 in. lbs.) torque with the aid of a crow's foot wrench.
- Install the air cleaner housing. (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - INSTALLATION) for 2.4L engine and (Refer to ENGINE/AIR INTAKE SYSTEM/AIR CLEANER HOUSING - INSTALLATION) for 2.7L engine.
- Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
- Install the remote ground cable onto the ground stud located on left shock tower.
- Bleed the base brakes and the ABS brakes hydraulic system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - BASE BRAKE BLEEDING and STANDARD PROCEDURE) .
- Road test vehicle to ensure proper operation of the base and ABS systems.
