Section 130 (Charging System): Generator: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove air cleaner assembly, refer to the AIR CLEANER HOUSING for more information.
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt, refer to COOLING for more information. See Fig 1.

  4. Disconnect the field connector. See Fig 2.

  5. Disconnect the battery positive cable from the generator first disconnect the B+ cap on the wiring harness side. See Fig 3.

  6. Remove the upper mounting bolt. See Fig 4.
  7. Remove the lower mounting bolt and nut. See Fig 4.

  8. Remove generator. See Fig 5.
