Charging System

The charging system consists of:

  1. Generator
  2. Decoupler Pulley (If equipped)
  3. Electronic Voltage Regulator (EVR) circuitry within the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
  4. Ignition switch (refer to the IGNITION SYSTEM - SERVICE INFORMATION for information)
  5. Battery (refer to the BATTERY SYSTEM for information)
  6. Inlet Air Temperature (calculated battery temperature 1.6L)
  7. Battery Temperature Sensor (2.0L, 2.4L and 2.4L turbo)
  8. Voltmeter (refer to the INSTRUMENT CLUSTER - SERVICE INFORMATION for information if equipped)
  9. Wiring harness and connections. (Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article for information)
  10. Accessory drive belt (refer to COOLING for more information)
