Lower Control Arm

  1. Position lower control arm (1) into brackets on engine cradle (3).
  2. Install mounting bolts (2) attaching lower control arm bushings to engine cradle (3). Install bolts from rear as shown. Install nuts (4) on bolts (2). Do not tighten bolts at this time. 
  3. Install steering knuckle, brake rotor and caliper. See INSTALLATION .

  4. Install tire and wheel assembly (1). Refer to INSTALLATION . Install and tighten wheel mounting nuts (3) to 135 N.m (100 ft. lbs.).
  5. Lower vehicle.
  6. Position vehicle on alignment rack/drive-on hoist. Raise hoist as necessary to access mounting bolts.

  7. At curb height, tighten lower control arm mounting bolts (2) to 163 N.m (120 ft. lbs.).
  8. Perform wheel alignment. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
