Powertrain Control Module (Pcm) - GPEC
The PCM must be program after it has been replaced. See STANDARD PROCEDURE .
To avoid possible voltage spike damage to PCM, the ignition key must be off, and the negative battery cable must be disconnected before unplugging the PCM connectors. Note radio programs.
- Remove the air induction hose.
- Remove the Air Cleaner Housing. Refer to appropriate Engine SERVICE INFORMATION article.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and isolate.WARNING: If the negative battery cable is not disconnected there's a possibility of damaging the Powertrain Control Module by contacting the Positive battery cable.
- Unlock and disconnect the electrical connectors (3) at the PCM.
- Remove one nut from the upper shock tower (1).
- Remove one bolt from the lower shock tower (2).
- Remove the PCM (4) from the vehicle.
- Remove four bolts and separate the PCM and bracket.
