Powertrain Control Module (Pcm) - NGC

The PCM must be program after it has been replaced. See  STANDARD PROCEDURE  .

To avoid possible voltage spike damage to PCM, ignition key must be off, and the negative battery cable must be disconnected before unplugging the PCM connectors. Note radio programs.

  1. Remove the air induction hose.
  2. Remove the Air Cleaner Housing. Refer to appropriate Engine SERVICE INFORMATION article.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and isolate.
    WARNING: If the negative battery cable is not disconnected there's a possibility of damaging the Powertrain Control Module by contacting the Positive battery cable at the PDC.
  4. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connectors at the PCM.

  5. Remove the 3 fasteners holding the PCM to the bracket.
