- Clean all O-ring surfaces on the pump and cover.
- Apply Mopar® Dielectric Grease or the equivalent silicone grease to the O-ring to facilitate assembly. Install a new O-ring on water pump.
- Position the water pump (3) to engine.
- Install the mounting bolts and tighten to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
- Install the timing belt. Refer to Engine/Valve Timing/BELT and SPROCKETS, Timing - Installation .
- Evacuate air and refill cooling system. See Cooling/Engine/PUMP, Water - Standard Procedure .
- Check cooling system for leaks. See Cooling - Diagnosis and Testing .
