Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Remove the engine cover. For 1.4L, refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . For 2.4L, refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the left front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Remove the two lower Transmission Control Module (TCM) mounting bolts (1).
  6. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Disconnect the TCM wire harness connector (1).

  8. Remove the two upper TCM mounting bolts (1a).
  9. Remove the TCM (1b) from the vehicle.
