Output of Diagnostic Codes

  1. Battery voltage must be 11 volts or more, throttle valve fully closed, and all accessories must be off. Using Engine Control System Sub Harness (09991-87702-000), short terminal "T" (Brown/White) to ground terminal (Black) of check terminal connector. Check terminal connector is located at upper section of transmission. See Figure .
  2. Turn ignition on. DO NOT start engine at this time. Read diagnostic code by observing flashing number sequence of "Check Engine" light. If a code No. 1 is memorized by ECU, "Check Engine" light will flash for .48 second, pause for 4.5 seconds, then flash for .48 second again. This pattern will be repeated.
  3. If more than one code has been memorized by ECU, there will be a 2.5 second lapse between each code. ECU will flash smaller number code first and proceed to larger number code. After codes have been read, remove Engine Control System Sub Harness (09991-87702-000) from check terminal. Install cap on check terminal.
