Coolant Temperature Sensor

  1. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor connector. Using a DVOM, measure temperature resistance of coolant temperature sensor body. Measure resistance between coolant temperature sensor terminals. See Figure . If resistance is not as shown, replace coolant temperature sensor.
    NOTE: Before coolant temperature sensor is removed, drain cooling system and refill cooling system if sensor is replaced.
  2. Check to ensure there is no continuity between each terminal of coolant temperature sensor and sensor body. If continuity is present, replace coolant temperature sensor.
