Trouble Shooting: Notes

NOTE: Before performing any testing, ensure that all systems are in normal operating condition (ignition and fuel components). Before starting CEC trouble shooting, check power supply, body ground, fuel supply, ignition system, air induction system, idle speed, idle-up VSV operation, and EGR valve operation. When checking CEC system, check for bad connectors and/or wiring. A Digital Volt/Ohmmeter (DVOM) with an internal resistance greater than 10K ohms should be used for trouble shooting CEC system. If a DVOM with an internal resistance less than 10K ohms is used, ECU may be damaged.
