Inspection Of EGR Vacuum Modulator

  1. Check EGR vacuum modulator operation by disconnecting vacuum hoses from ports "P" and "Q" of EGR vacuum modulator. Plug port "P" with finger. Blow air into port "Q".
  2. Ensure that air passes through air filter side freely. If not, replace EGR vacuum modulator. Plug disconnected vacuum hoses. Start engine. After warming up engine thoroughly, keep engine speed at 3000 RPM.
  3. Repeat test. Ensure that there is a strong resistance to airflow. Reconnect vacuum hoses to original locations.
