Inspection Of EVSV

  1. To check vacuum circuit continuity in EVSV, connect EVSV terminals to battery and ground. Blow air into one pipe and ensure that air comes out from the other pipe. If no air comes out, replace EVSV.
  2. Disconnect battery. Blow air into one pipe and ensure that air comes out from the other. If no air comes out replace EVSV. To check for short circuit, ensure that no continuity exists between terminals and EVSV body, using an ohmmeter. If continuity exists, replace EVSV.
  3. Check EVSV for an open circuit by measuring resistance between terminals. Resistance should be 44.2 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is not to specification replace VSV.
