Oxygen (O2) Sensor

The oxygen sensor is only used on vehicles with feedback carburetors. The sensor is located in the exhaust manifold. Sensor informs the computer of the amount of oxygen present in exhaust gases. The amount of oxygen is proportional to mixture strength. The computer adjusts the air/fuel ratio to maintain ideal operating conditions and optimum efficiency of the 3-way catalyst system.
