Air Switching System

On 3.9L and 5.2L engines, air switching solenoid is energized when vehicle is started and is in open loop mode. Air supply is diverted upstream to exhaust manifold. In closed loop mode air supply is diverted downstream. As loop mode changes back and forth, air supply is also switched accordingly.
