Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) Test

Turn ignition off. Disconnect coolant sensor. Connect ohmmeter to coolant sensor terminals. With coolant temperature about 70°F (21°C), sensor resistance should be 7000-13,000 ohms. With coolant temperature at 200°F (93°C), sensor resistance should be 700-1000 ohms.
