Removal & Installation

  1. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located at driver's side front corner of engine compartment, between power distribution center and Transmission Control Module (TCM). See Fig 1 .
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable at remote battery terminal on passenger's side strut tower. Remove speed control servo with bracket and lay aside.
  3. Remove filler neck from windshield washer fluid bottle. Remove TCM for access to PCM. Remove PCM retaining bolt and pull PCM outward. Disconnect electrical connectors from PCM. Remove PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.
