OTIS Test 3B - Incorrect Ambient Temperature Reading

NOTE: Perform OTIS TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  . Drive vehicle at least 3 miles (greater than 25 MPH) to update OTIS and perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone 12-pin connector C3. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Dark Blue/Gray wire) on Bone connector. If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Dark Blue/Gray wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Violet/Dark Green wire) on Bone connector. If resistance is less than 50 k/ohms, repair Violet/Dark Green wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 50 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Measure resistance between terminals No. 5 and 10 on Bone connector. If resistance is less than 50 k/ohms, repair Violet/Dark Green wire for partial short to Dark Blue/Gray wire. If resistance is 50 k/ohms or greater, replace BCM.
