Keyless Entry System

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system allows remote locking and unlocking of doors. RKE transmitter contains LOCK, UNLOCK, PANIC and TRUNK release buttons. Interior lights will flash 2 times when vehicle is locked using transmitter. When vehicle is unlocked using transmitter, interior lights will come on for 30 seconds. RKE system can be programmed to operate horn and hazard lights upon locking and/or unlocking of vehicle.

Panic button on remote control will activate vehicle alarm system for approximately 3 minutes when pressed. Alarm can be terminated if any button on remote control is pressed.

Power door locks are controlled by the Electronic Timer Alarm Control System Electronic Control Unit (ETACS ECU). RKE receiver is integrated into ETACS ECU. The ETACS ECU sends appropriate signals to individual door lock actuators through individual relays.

When trunk lid button on Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is pressed 2 times within 5 seconds without ignition key in the ignition switch, ETACS ECU will automatically open trunk lid.
