Diagnostic Test
POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST
- After repairs are complete, erase all DTCs with the scan tool.
- With the scan tool, navigate to "Miscellaneous Functions" and perform all Relearn Procedures/Routines that are related to the component or system that was repaired.
- NGC/GPEC CONTROLLER: The "Cam/Crank Relearn" Procedure must be performed every time there has been a repair/replacement made to a CMP Sensor and/or CKP sensor, flywheel, valvetrain, timing chain or gears. Failure to do so can cause a misfire fault to set. With the scan tool, perform the "Cam/Crank Relearn" Procedure.
- MAGNETI MARELLI CONTROLLER: The "Clear Misfire TLC" Procedure must be performed every time there has been a repair/replacement made to a CMP Sensor and/or CKP sensor, flywheel, valvetrain, timing chain or gears. Failure to do so can cause a misfire fault to set. With the scan tool, perform the "Clear Misfire TLC" Procedure.
- If the PCM has been replaced, be certain to program the secret key code, VIN and odometer mileage after programming the PCM.
- Inspect the vehicle to make sure that all engine components are properly installed and connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.
- Operate the vehicle in accordance with the parameters and specific information found in the Monitoring Conditions and Theory of Operation of the DTC that was repaired.
- With the scan tool, verify that no DTCs have returned.

Yes
- Check for any related Service Bulletins and/or and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DTC INDEX .
No
- Repair is complete.
