Module, Powertrain Control: Installation: Installation
NOTE:
Once PCM installation is complete, use the scan tool to calibrate the PCM with the proper vehicle information. Failure to do so will lead to MIL indication and poor vehicle performance.
If the powertrain control module (PCM) is replaced of usage, update the mileage and vehicle identification number (VIN) in the new PCM. Use the scan tool to change the mileage and VIN in the PCM. If this step is not done a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set. Refer to the appropriate Powertrain Diagnostic Manual and the scan tool.
- Install PCM (1) to left side inner fender support (1). Tighten bolts (3) to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.).
- Install electrical connectors (3) to PCM.
- Install cover. Tighten screws to 7 N.m (62 in. lbs.).
- Connect negative battery cable. Tighten to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).
- Reprogram radio and clock.NOTE:
The Learn Mis-Fire Adaptive Numerator MUST be performed after the PCM has been replaced. Follow the instructions on the scan tool.
- Using scan tool, calibrate the PCM with the proper vehicle information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
