Section 17 (Front Axle): Installation

- Install the front axle assembly (1) into position.
- Install and tighten the axle housing-to-engine bolts to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install power steering return line to cradle by fastening clips (1).
- Install axle assembly support bracket (1) and bolts (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the front axle disconnect. Refer to DISCONNECT, FRONT AXLE, INSTALLATION .
- Install RH catalytic converter/exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, INSTALLATION .
- Install front driveshaft. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install both front halfshafts. Refer to INSTALLATION

- Fill the axle with the specified fluid. Refer to CAPACITIES AND RECOMMENDED FLUIDS, SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the fill plug (1) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .NOTE:
Fluid level should be at or near the bottom of the fill hole.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
