Programming The BCM
NOTE:
During the Body Control Module (BCM) replacement procedure the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and the electronic code (key code) will be needed.
NOTE:
In some cases the vehicle may exhibit a start and stall condition after the BCM is replaced. If this occurs the Key Learning procedure may need to be performed and all keys relearned. Make sure that all keys are present if a key relearn is required; keys not present will be locked out.
NOTE:
Customer keys that are not present at the dealer after the BCM was replaced may not have Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) functionality until the customer turns the key in the ignition.
When replacing any Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the diagnostic scan tool to the vehicle.
- Select BCM from the "Vehicle View" screen.
- Select the Misc. Functions menu tab.
- Select the BCM Replaced procedure.
- Follow the on screen prompts complete the procedure.
- Perform the Key Learning procedure located in the BCM Misc. Functions menu and following the on screen prompts.
- Perform the PROXI Alignment procedure.
