Description And Operation
The A/C heater control (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning / HVAC Module) for the Manual Temperature Control (MTC) heating and A/C system allows one temperature setting for the entire vehicle. The MTC heating and A/C system uses a combination of electrical and cable operated controls to provide the vehicle operator with a number of setting options to help control the climate and comfort within the vehicle. All controls are identified by International Standards Organization (ISO) graphic symbols.
The MTC A/C heater control (HVAC Module) and control panel are located in the center of the instrument panel and contain:
- a rotary temperature control knob (1). The temperature control is attached to the temperature control cable by a shaft and lever.
- a rotary mode control (2). The mode control is attached to the mode door cable by a shaft and lever.
- a rotary ON/OFF and blower speed control (3). Blower speed is controlled electrically using this switch and the blower motor resistor.
- an interior air recirculation ON/OFF button (4), that contains the recirculation ON/OFF switch.
- a climate control compressor ON/OFF button (5), that contains the A/C ON/OFF switch.
The A/C heater control (HVAC Module) and the control panel cannot be adjusted or repaired and must be replaced if inoperative or damaged.
