Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING THE COOLING SYSTEM  .
  5. Remove the screw (2), four bolts (3 and 4) and the right lower splash shield (1).

  6. Remove the four bolts (1) holding the front of the right and left load beams to the radiator support. Do not  remove the nut (2).

  7. Remove the two lower bolts (3) and the lower radiator core support (4).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the two bolts (2), lift the pressurized coolant bottle (1) from the rubber grommet and reposition the coolant bottle.

  10. Disengage the quick-connect coupling and remove the upper radiator inlet hose (1) from the radiator.

  11. Unlock and disconnect the radiator cooling fan harness connector (4).
  12. Unlock and disconnect the radiator cooling fan speed control module harness connector (3).
  13. Disengage the wire harness retainer (2) form the fan shroud and reposition the wire harness.
  14. Disengage the transmission oil cooler line retainer (1) from the radiator fan shroud and reposition the oil cooler lines.

  15. Remove the two bolts (2) securing the power steering fluid cooler (1) to the front bumper reinforcement and reposition the power steering fluid cooler.

  16. Detach the wire loom retainers (1) from the front bumper reinforcement (2).

  17. Remove the four right side front bumper reinforcement mounting bolts (2).

  18. Remove the four left side front bumper reinforcement mounting bolts (1) and remove the front bumper reinforcement (2) from the vehicle.

  19. Remove the two screws (3) from the bottom of the shroud (1).

  20. Remove the shroud (1) by squeezing the upper retention tabs (2) together while gently pulling the shroud away from radiator.

  21. Push up on the retainers (2), lift the mount tabs (4) out of the radiator mounts (5) and reposition the transmission oil cooler (3).

  22. Carefully spread the lock tabs (2) and disengage the A/C condenser (1) from the radiator.

  23. Lift the mount tabs (2) out of the radiator mounts and reposition the A/C condenser (1).

  24. Remove the bolts (1) and remove the radiator/cooling fan assembly from the vehicle.

  25. Remove the upper radiator mounting brackets (1) from the radiator.

  26. Press the retainers (1), lift the radiator fan shroud up off of the radiator mounts (2) and remove the fan shroud from the radiator.
