Keyless Entry
The keyless entry feature is optional. A radio controlled electronic unit, consisting of a transmitter and receiver, is used to lock and unlock the doors from outside the vehicle. When doors are locked or unlocked, the courtesy lights will come on for 15 seconds. The receiver is located above the windshield behind reading light console and receives voltage from fuse No. 2. The receiver will only respond to a correctly coded transmitter.
If a transmitter is lost or damaged, replacement will be necessary. The receiver code is located inside receiver assembly. The system is activated by pointing the transmitter toward the windshield and pressing the button on the transmitter. When this is done, an electronic signal is sent to the receiver. The receiver then converts the signal to electrical energy which activates the door lock relay.
