Test Procedures
NOTE:
To ensure no other faults remain, perform the following:
- Road test vehicle at a speed above 35 MPH. Press and release SET switch. If cruise control did not engage repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- Press and release RESUME/ACCEL switch. If vehicle speed did not increase by 2 MPH, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- Press and release brake pedal. If cruise control did not disengage, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS Section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- Bring vehicle speed back up to 35 MPH. Press RESUME/ACCEL switch. If cruise control did not resume previously set speed, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- Hold down SET switch. If vehicle did not decelerate, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- Ensure vehicle speed is greater than 35 MPH and release SET switch. If vehicle did not adjust to new vehicle speed, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- Turn ON/OFF switch to OFF position. If cruise control did not disengage, repair is not complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs) in the TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS section, and return to TEST SP-15A , if necessary.
- If vehicle successfully passed all previous tests, cruise control system is now functioning correctly. Repair is complete.
