Test SC-NF-8 - Repairing Brake Switch Sense Circuit For Open

NOTE: Perform TEST SC-NF-7  before proceeding.
  1. Remove jumper wire lead from brake switch connector terminal No. 6, ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). Reconnect jumper wire lead to a good chassis ground. Using DRB-II, read cruise control inputs monitor. If DRB-II BRAKE SW input displays RELEASED, repair open in Black/Light Green wire to brake switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER  .
  2. If DRB-II BRAKE SW input does not display RELEASED, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove jumper wire. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) 60-pin connector. Inspect connector. If connector is not okay, repair connector as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER  .
  3. If connector is okay, using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of brake switch sense circuit (White/Pink wire) between brake switch connector terminal No. 3 and PCM connector terminal No. 29. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Pink wire between brake switch and PCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE SC-VER  .
