Light On

  1. Ensure parking brake is fully released, and switch and circuit is functioning properly. Ensure brake master cylinder reservoir is full of fluid. If fluid level is low, check brake system for worn pad or shoe lining. Check entire system for leaks, and repair as required.
  2. If fluid level is okay, check for contamination (swollen diaphragm, etc.). Replace all rubber parts if system is contaminated. See BRAKE SYSTEM article in the BRAKES Section. If fluid is not contaminated, perform hydraulic testing. See ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM article in the BRAKES Section if anti-lock system is suspect.
