Ignition Switch Test

  1. Remove steering column covers to locate ignition switch 6-pin connector. Using a voltmeter, backprobe ignition switch 6-pin connector terminal No. 6 (White wire) and check for battery voltage. If battery voltage does not exist, replace main fusible link.
  2. If battery voltage exists at ignition switch 6-pin connector terminal No.6 (White wire), backprobe ignition switch 6-pin connector terminal No. 5 (Black/Yellow wire) and turn ignition switch to START position. If battery voltage does not exist at terminal No. 5 (Black/Yellow wire) to starter, replace ignition switch.
