Test SC-5A - Manual Valve Lever Position Switch (MVLPS) Circuit

NOTE: Perform TEST SC-1A  before proceeding. After each repair, perform TEST SC-VER  .
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAM  .
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. PCM is located under air cleaner. Ensure gear selector is in Drive.
  2. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of PCM connector terminal No. 30 (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect Manual Valve Lever Position Switch (MVLPS) connector.
  3. Check resistance of PCM connector terminal No. 30 (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace MVLPS. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Light Green wire.
