Brakelight Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Eagle Vision, 1994 Dodge Intrepid, 1994 Chrysler New Yorker, 1994 Chrysler LHS, and 1994 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect brakelight switch 6-pin connector. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity at switch side of connector terminals. With brakelight switch depressed, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 2, and between terminals No. 3 and 4. With brakelight switch released, continuity should exist between terminals No. 5 and 6. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . If continuity is not as specified, check brakelight switch adjustment. If switch adjustment is okay, replace defective brakelight switch.
