Control Unit
PCM is located under center of dash, behind center console. SeeFig. 1. PCM receives input voltage signals from a variety of input devices. PCM compares each voltage input signal to a preset parameter which is programmed into PCM. PCM instantly analyzes each input voltage signal and adjusts output voltage signals accordingly. This allows for lower emissions while maintaining fuel economy and driveability.
NOTE:
Components are grouped into 2 categories. The first category covers INPUT DEVICES, which control or produce voltage signals monitored by the PCM. The second category covers OUTPUT SIGNALS, which are components controlled by the PCM.
