Body Control Module

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the transmission shift lever handle. For automatic Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , For manual Refer to KNOB, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the steering column opening cover. (Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
  5. Remove the HVAC duct to gain access to the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to DUCT, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  6. Disengage the retainers (1a) and reposition the wire harness (1b).

  7. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (1) from the BCM.

  8. Release the retaining clips (1a) and remove the BCM (1b) from the mounting bracket (1c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position the BCM to the bracket and engage the retaining clips.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors to the BCM.
  3. Move the wire harness retainers back to their installed position.
  4. Install the steering column opening cover. (Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
  5. Install the transmission shift lever handle. For automatic Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , For manual Refer to KNOB, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
