Body Control Module
REMOVAL
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the transmission shift lever handle. For automatic Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , For manual Refer to KNOB, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the steering column opening cover. (Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
- Remove the HVAC duct to gain access to the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to DUCT, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disengage the retainers (1a) and reposition the wire harness (1b).
- Disconnect the wire harness connectors (1) from the BCM.
- Release the retaining clips (1a) and remove the BCM (1b) from the mounting bracket (1c).
INSTALLATION
- Position the BCM to the bracket and engage the retaining clips.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the BCM.
- Move the wire harness retainers back to their installed position.
- Install the steering column opening cover. (Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL ).
- Install the transmission shift lever handle. For automatic Refer to SHIFTER, TRANSMISSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , For manual Refer to KNOB, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
