Removal And Installation: Notes

NOTE:

After removing and refitting the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), it becomes necessary to check that the battery charge is not less than 80%. Otherwise, recharge the battery so that it is more than 80% charged. If the battery is being replaced, check that the replacement part is a Heavy Duty version.

REMOVAL 

  1. Open the hood.

  2. Loosen the nut (1a) and disconnect the battery negative terminal (1b).
  3. Remove the nut (2a) and disconnect the ground lead (2b) from the battery negative terminal (1b).
  4. Disconnect the wiring harness connection (3a) from the IBS (3b).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Connect the wiring harness connector to the IBS.
  2. Connect the ground lead to the battery negative terminal and tighten the nut.
  3. Connect the battery negative terminal and tighten the nut.
  4. Close the hood.
