Module, Powertrain Control: Installation

  1. Install the PCM to the bracket.
  2. Secure the PCM using fasteners.
  3. Connect the PCM harness connectors (1 and 2) to the PCM.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
    NOTE:

    If the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage is not programed into the PCM, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.

  5. If installing a new PCM, use a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram the new PCM with the vehicles original VIN and mileage. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING .
