Module, Anti-Lock Brake System (Abs): Installation
- Position the Integrated Control Unit (ICU) onto the mounting pin.
- Install mounting fasteners (3) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .CAUTION:
Before installing the ABM harness connector on the ABM, be sure the seal is properly installed in the connector.
- Insert the ABM wiring harness connector (1) into the socket of the ABM and close the cover (5), locking the connector in place.
- Install the four chassis brake tubes (2) brake tubes at the ICU hydraulic control unit. Tighten the tube nuts to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the primary and secondary brake tubes (4) at the ICU hydraulic control unit. Tighten the tube nuts to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the brake pedal holding tool.
- Install the engine appearance cover.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Install a scan tool to initialize the ABM and perform the following:
- Clear any faults.
- Fill the master cylinder to the proper fill level and bleed the base and ABS hydraulic systems. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - BASE BRAKE BLEEDING .
- Check for leaks.
NOTE:If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
- Perform the Verification Test and clear any faults Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
