Module, Body Control (BCM): Installation
- Position the Body Control Module (BCM) (2) into the vehicle and connect the two electrical connectors (1) on the back of the module.
- Position the BCM (2) to the bracket.
- Install and tighten the three screws (1) that secure the BCM to the mounting bracket.
- Connect the four electrical connectors on the front side of the BCM.
- Position the fuse box cover; install the two fasteners, and tighten.
- Position the steering column closeout panel lower retainer channel (2) to the knee blocker air bag bracket.
- Fold the material (4) over and inward.
- Rotate the steering column closeout panel (1) upward, engaging the retainers (3) fully.
- Install the two fasteners (1) into the fuse access area and tighten securely.
- Position and secure the diagnostic terminal (3) to the steering column closeout panel (2).
- Position the fuse access cover (1) to the instrument panel cover.
- Engage the fuse access cover (1) retaining clips fully.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
NOTE:
If the Body Control Module (BCM) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to run the
Configure Door Locks
procedure.
