Module, Transmission Control (TCM): Installation
- Clean any debris or contaminants to the connector area.
- Use the positive locating feature on the electrical connector to orient the Transmission Control Module (TCM) prior to installation.
- Install the TCM, tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).NOTE:
Do not turn the shaft more than 60 degrees to the marking, otherwise damage may occur.
- Be sure to match the position of the TCM markings (1).
- Connect the manual shift lever to the TCM (1), tighten the fastener to 16 N.m (12 ft. lbs.)
- Connect the electrical connections to the TCM.
- Install the battery tray. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Program the TCM.
NOTE:
If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
