Sensor, Camshaft Position: Installation
- The camshaft position (CMP) sensor O-ring (1) can be reused if not damaged.
- Apply a small amount of engine oil to the sensor O-ring (1).
- Install the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (1). Tighten bolt (2) to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
- Connect and lock the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Install the oil vapor separator complete with new O-ring and tighten the bolts (1) to 13 N.m (115 in. lbs.).
- Connect the oil vapor recovery pipe and tighten the clamp (1).
- Install and tighten the engine oil vapor pipe middle bracket bolt (1).
- Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
- The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components
